If you look at the industry eight or ten years ago, you might be very sure about the future of gaming, but as time passed and different types of technologies integrated with gaming. Now, this has become the most rapidly growing industry in the world.

One more thing that can clear the power and the future of the gaming industry is. if you look at the history of gaming, the first-ever game was created by William Higinbotham, in 1950 and at that time, there was no contribution of this industry to the world entertainment economy. But Today, in 2020, this industry is the major contributor to it. And I am completely sure that this billion-dollar industry will make people raise their eyebrows.

Future of the Gaming Industry

120.1 billion-dollars was generated in 2019 by the gaming industry.  And according to the latest report from GlobalData, this industry is predicted to be a $300 billion industry by 2025.

2019 Revenue of Gaming Industry

Many more – $xx

Now if we talk about the 2020 revenue growth prediction then, Newzoo senior market analyst Mr. Tom Wijman predicted that the world gaming industry can make more than $159 billion. It means, in 2020 the gaming market will have a growth of 9.3 percent year-over-year.

According to some data, the world championship of League of Legends was viewed by 100 million people all over the world, which is way more than watching the telecast of the Super Bowl. And by 2021, the number of game watchers can grow up to 2.7 billion.

Microsoft and Google are working toward creating the latest technology to serve millions and millions of gamers around the globe. As per a survey done by Microsoft, More than 2 billion people are gamer around the world. And my friend, that is the main reason why these big companies are coming and investing in the gaming industry.

Game developers are continually working on enhancing the gamers’ experience by rewriting the codes for consoles, etc. Today most of the games are shifting their focus on the free-to-play with this optional in-game buying. Only a few games make up the most revenue for the gaming industry, and according to some statistics the most profitable and successful games are online oriented for steam like PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and CSGO.

Because of all this COVID-19 situation, the industry had a very positive impact. People were looking for some home entertainment and games become their source of entertainment in lockdown while all the other sources of entertainment like theaters, bars, etc were closed to prevent the spread of the virus. A survey shows that in the US, an average person spent 45% of their time playing video games during the quarantine time.

In a few years, You’ll see there will be more options of games for gamers to choose from on every platform, and the games will try their best to turn you into a permanent fan of it Just like people become a fan of the popular movies or brands.

How AL meets the Gaming industry

If we look at the majority of the games, whether it’s a car racing game or strategy game. You’ll always find that they all have various segments that are fueled by AI. For example, the bots you see in the battle royale games like PUBG Mobile, Free Fire are powered by Artificial Intelligence. The idea of using AI for the gaming industry has been expressed a decade ago.

If you have ever played GTA’s first version, then you should have seen these innocent auto or car drivers from which your character steal the vehicle. These are some non-player characters (NPC), these NPCs do nothing except to provide you the information you’ll need in the game. NCPs are nothing but the creation of AI, So that is why the relation between AI and Gaming is pretty old.

Now the most important reason why the majority of game developers want to add AI, first it grows and brings interest and satisfaction to the gamer and holds it for a long period of time. And the second one is, it gives a realistic experience to the gamers community and also a virtual platform where they can come and compete with each other.

In the end, all I can say is that the AI will always keep on building a big impact on the gaming industry, Because now all normal game creators have increasingly accessible and simplified data in their hands. We might gonna see a big step to the further created characters and visuals that can create storylines by themselves.

VR in the Gaming Industry

Would you like to spend some of your time in the virtual world? if the answer is yes. Then I would suggest you to give a shot to VR gaming. Because when you wear these headsets you went into a different world for some time.

Now if I talk about the VR involvement in the gaming industry then it’s definitely a game-changer, why? because it helps game creators to enhance the user experience. These VR devices come with interactive hardware and software.

To play a VR game you have to wear VR accessories, like headsets, gloves hold, and bodysuits now you have to use your whole body to control the game. The VR game developers are continually working on evolving the game to the best possible gaming experience. VR gamers wants to experience this new type of play at an affordable price.

To launch the VR gaming fully into the market, game designers and developers need to overcome some issues. Because currently, the weight of VR sets is more than a pound, when you wear a headset it must tightly stick to the face of gamers.

The main issue with these VR sets is that when you wear them for more than 30 minutes it makes your head sweaty and sap your energy. Tech companies keep on making these headsets more user-friendly, and within some time you’ll see these both issues and many more problems will be conquered.
